District Heating Networks
In order to utilise the heat produced by a CHP, it is usually necessary to have a district heating network which transports the energy to the individual consumers. An economic way of achieving this is the use of underground PEX tubing. These are pre-insulated, flexible plastic tubes which can normally be laid without problems by non-professionals. They can be laid under roads without damage. Junctions can be achieved using watertight earth connections or in accessible shafts.
